The plantation sector comprises three public quoted plantation companies namely Kegalle Plantation PLC, Maskeliya Plantation PLC and Namunukula Plantation PLC and their respective management companies. In addition, Maskeliya Tea Garden Ceylon Ltd is the export marketing arm of top quality pure Ceylon value added tea, selling globally as well as locally under the flagship brand name of St. Clair's.
Kegalle Plantations
Kegalle plantations PLC manage 17 estates in Kegalle, Kurunegala & Badulla districts. 63 % of revenue is contributed by Rubber, 31% by Tea & and the rest 6% by Coconut and other crops. It has the competitive advantage of having its six Tea estates located in three different agro-climatic areas.
Maskeliya Plantations
Maskeliya Plantations Plc , is in the central highland's Western High grown tea sector and lies in the mean sea elevation of 1260 m. The company comprises of 5 estates each in Upcot and Maskeliya zones, 4 in Talawakelle zone and 4 estates in Uva tea sector in Bandarawela zone producing some of the world's best teas.
Namunukula Plantations
Namunukula Plantations PLC is a Company with due recognition for its crop diversity. It has 05 major Plantation crops namely Tea, Rubber, Oil Palm, Coconut & Cinnamon covering an extent of over 7,400 ha. The company has 12 plantations - 06 in Kalutara district and 06 plantations in Galle & Matara district. The company is renowned for its quality low grown type of tea manufactured by using experience and expertise whilst maintaining the quality of the end product consistently. Namunukula Plantations Ltd possess some of the best known estates in their respective regions, comprising 09 tea processing units and 03 crepe rubber processing units.
Maskeliya Tea Garden
Maskeliya Tea Gardens Ceylon Ltd, the exporting arm of the plantation Companies of Richard Pieris Group offers a collective experience of more than 50 years of dedicated service, devoted to value added Tea business under the brand name of "St Clair's". The year under review is yet another successful milestone in Maskeliya Tea Garden's history. Belarus and Lithuanian markets were included in the Maskeliya Tea Garden's export portfolio as new export destinations.
